Shri Satguru Akkalkot Samarth Swami

Shri Akkalkot Samartha Swami, the saint of Akkalkot popularly known as Shri Swami Samarth is one of the greatest saints in Maharastra. He is recognized as a perfect Avatar of Lord Dettathreya. Shri Akkalokot Maharaja appeared in the Akkalokot in the Akkalokot Taluk in Solapur district of Maharashtra on a Wednesday in the month of Aswini in the year 1856. He stayed there for nearly 22 years. Yet no one knew anything about him, parentage, caste etc.

Shri Akkalkot Maharaj performed numerous miracles and leelas and helped a lot of ordinary people to realize the Self. Shri Swami Samarth is peerless among saints. He left his mortal coils on 30th April 1872. Before the Mahasamadhi he assured his devotees that “ even though I leave this mortal body I will come running to the needs of my devotees. Take my word, I am ever living. You will know this by experience”. Indeed devotees all over the world have even today experienced the truth of Shri Swami Samarth’s words.
